Description

Frankie and Koda posing like pros.

A Coastal volunteer found little Frankie at the Huntington Beach dog beach all alone! Deciding that she was his new friend, Frankie followed her the entire 1 mile stretch. Realizing Frankie had no owner looking for him, she gave her info to the lifeguard, posted flyers, posted online ads, called shelters & animal control, and took him to the vet to see if he had a microchip....NOTHING. She suspects someone dumped him at the dog beach...but why?!? The skin condition he has is called demodex. It's not contagious, VERY treatable, and inexpensive. He is already taking his one and only medication and should be growing his hair back in no time. We are guessing his previous owner was NOT educated about it and dumped him instead of dealing with it. Frankie is a well behaved 6-7 month old puppy. To his foster mom's surprise he already knew to go to the bathroom outside and knows how to sit like a champ. He likes to chew on his bones and toys and nothing else! Frankie would love to play with other doggies and currently lives with a German Shepherd. Just a few days ago he went on a hike with his foster family off leash and did WONDERFUL. He would be a good fetching dog once he learns to give you the ball back. Great family dog!

Koda is a mix of something retriever, shepherd, lab maybe, chow maybe? He doesn't care what he's mixed with as long as it helps him get a new home. He's an easy going guy who will love to have a family to take care of him. We are raising the funds to have his hips repaired and would LOVE to find him a foster home or forever home - the rescue will be covering the cost of his surgery through grants & donations so he can be placed now and the adopter will not incur the medical costs. Koda really likes everyone - we think he'd be fine with kitties too.
